Our Updated Guest Bedroom

Our Updated Guest Bedroom

Our guest bedroom is finally “done.” I say that in quotation marks because no room in our house is ever really complete.  As we collect new things art gets added to walls, rugs get changed out and new items appear on shelves.  We imagine that will happen here as well, but wanted to share our progress to date.

This room ended up in more of a modern woodland cabin feeling, once the dark green paint was on the walls, the room immediately felt more moody (in a good way) and cozy.  We love the way it turned out and if you do too, we are sharing where we sourced everything below.

Paint: Clare Paint “Current Mood”

Really loved this paint, nice coverage and finish, and pricing was relatively affordable in comparison to Benjamin Moore, which we usually use.

Wallpaper: Sanderson “Woodland Chorus.”

This will take you to the website Wallpaperfromthe70s.com, this is our favorite place to order wallpaper.  99% of the wallpaper projects we have done have been purchased here.  They have an excellent selection and affordable pricing - highly recommend this site.

Bedding: Pottery Barn Bryce Buffalo Check Cotton Duvet Cover

Throw Blanket: Target Casaluna Chunky Knit Bed Blanket

This blanket is super soft, cozy and affordable, highly recommend.  Also, while we are talking about throw blankets we got this one as a gift and keep it in our living room.  This is our favorite, most cozy blanket we have owned.  We need to buy another because we fight over who gets it every night.

Curtains: Pottery Barn Bryce Check Cotton Curtains

Curtain Rod: Amazon Ivilon Curtain Rod Warm Gold Super affordable, easy-ish to install and looks expensive.

Side Tables: We bought these second hand, but they are West Elm. The updated version is here.

Wall Sconce: CB2 Mantis Swivel Wall Sconce The arm on this is longer than we realized and the swivel is a bit stiff but overall we love the look of this once we got it in the right position.

Rugs: Both of these are rugs are antique and similar rugs can be found on our website.

Vase: We picked ours up at an antique store, here is something similar from target.

Wall Art: All of the art in the room we have collected over the years and is all antique or vintage.

  • Window Wall - Both are signed Jim Dine exhibition posters.
  • Next To Wall Sconce - Victor Vasarely signed lithograph.
  • Across From Bed - Late 19th Century “Joshua Simpkins” theater poster.
